North Beach and Vilano are uniquely "Old Florida" and our neighborhoods are quiet and safe. Residents sometimes find that vacationers are rowdy and noisy, and consider them an intrusion. Yet it shouldn't have to be so.
Join NBCA's Good Neighbor Program
If you own a vacation (short-term) rental in Vilano and North Beach, consider becoming part of our "Good Neighbor" program.
With this program, NBCA provides important safety and community information for guests that highlight the benefits of being a "good neighbor" while vacationing in our residential neighborhood.
How it works
NBCA has developed a program where we provide safety and community information for guests of North Beach and invite owners and property managers who participate in the program. The information covers the perils of crossing A1A, as well as recommendations for the guest to be a “good neighbor” to the community, the residents and the environment.
Owners who join the program will be highlighted on the NBCA website and receive a packet and framed statement of participation in the program.
In turn, we ask those owners to make sure that their property managers and guests are aware of the importance of being a good neighbor and that they make every effort to rent only to good neighbors.
The packet we will provide includes a welcome letter, the SJC Rental Ordinance, Florida laws regarding pedestrians, Sheriff Hardwick’s reminders about beach and road safety, golf cart rules, beach rules, sea turtle rules and beach warning flags.
The wording appeals to the guests to be a good neighbor and reminds them that they are in a residential community.
